Global warming is projected to have a number of negative effects on our planet. It changes the nature of rainfall, evaporation and snow and leads to rising sea levels, among many other things. It is important for every business to understand and try to reduce their carbon footprints. Carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases produced, usually expressed in tons of carbon dioxide (CO2). For example, the following activities add 1kg of CO2 to our personal carbon footprint:
The average carbon emission per person is about 10 metric tonnes in Ireland. It’s time for all of us to reduce this burden on our natural habitat. We are proud to announce that Impedans is now a partner of WeForest! We will be planting trees as part of their global reforestation mission to offset our own carbon footprint.
WeForest is a science-based international non-profit organisation dedicated to replanting native forests. They are reforesting in several countries such as Brazil, Zambia, India and Tanzania, to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases with other organisations. Businesses can partner with WeForest in innovative ways to support their mission of rebuilding forests, biodiversity, food and water for people around the forests and gradually increase the health of planet Earth. Impedans have started to plant trees in Zambia, where WeForest have restored about 1,977 Hectares; 2,395,830 trees planted and 289,496 tons of CO2 sequestered.
